Commemorate national Vietnam War Veterans Day
The public is invited to commemorate national Vietnam War Veterans Day at noon Thursday, March 29, at the National Museum of the American Sailor, on Farragut Avenue east of Sheridan Road, just outside the main gate of Great Lakes Naval Station in North Chicago. Speakers include: U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider; Harry Hahn, president of the Mobile Riverine Force Association; and, Capt. James Hawkins, commanding officer, Great Lakes Naval Station. The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act designates March 29 of each year as National Vietnam War Veterans Day.
