Dogtopia opens in South Elgin

SOUTH ELGIN - Dogtopia, a national dog day care, boarding and spa facility, is opening a new location in South Elgin on Saturday.

The new facility at 580 Randall Road, just east of the Thornwood subdivision, marks the fourth Dogtopia to open in the Chicago area. A grand opening celebration will be held from 3-6 p.m. May 2 and will offer a bonus day for new customers with the purchase of a 5-day pass. A ribbon cutting will be held at 4:30 p.m.

The new location is owned by local entrepreneurs Dave and Sue George. After working in corporate America for 30 years, Dave decided it was time to switch gears and marry his passion for business with his love of dogs by opening Dogtopia for the local dog community.

Offering personalized care for pups in a fun, safe and comfortable environment, Dogtopia offers three key benefits: education, exercise and socialization. To foster transparency, pet parents are walked through a detailed facility tour while their furry children are evaluated for Dogtopia's open-play environment. Dogtopia employs webcam technology in each playroom that allows pet parents to check on their pups from anywhere.
