St. Charles Arts Council to host 'Time & Talent' benefit Aug. 25
On Thursday, Aug. 25, the St. Charles Arts Council's "Party in the Park" will include a "Time & Talent" auction at the historic Pottawatomie Park Pavilion, 8 North Ave.
The evening fundraising event from 6-9 p.m. will include a barbecue by Four D's BBQ and music by Afternoon Logic.
The mission of the St. Charles Arts Council is to support and advocate for art and cultural organizations as well as artists in the St. Charles area. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward programming intended to accomplish the goal of highlighting the rich cultural assets we have right here in our own backyard.
"The 'Time & Talent' part of our auction is unique to this area," stated executive director Kathryn Hill. "We are looking to provide a new experience to bidders. For instance, Bob McDowell and Gary Porter are donating three man-hours of handyman labor for auction. Or people can bid on lunch with Mayor Vitek!"
Fourteen live auction items will be sold at the fundraiser including: handyman services from Bob McDowell and Bob Porter; a pampering day at Sage Healing; an Art Party at All Things Art; an acting themed birthday party for up to 20 people at Marquee Youth Stage; a charcuterie board from Shawn Campbell; golf package from Prairie Landing Golf; lunch with St. Charles Mayor Lora Vitek; a handmade wooden box by John Abel; art lessons from artist Carol Zack; an All Things St. Charles gift basket; four tickets to the St. Charles Singers Candlelight Carols concert; a Chef's Tasting event from the Graceful Ordinary; workout program at Strong Gym; and two tickets to the Fine Line "Uncommon Threads" event.
Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased at www.stcharlesartscouncil.org.
