Dining events: Let the chef decide at Heaven on Seven

Heaven on Seven's ‘Feed Me'

Heaven on Seven makes it hard to decide. So don't. Instead, say “Jimmy Feed Me!” and the chef will make all the hard decisions for you. Pick how many courses — four for $30; seven for $40; or 10 for $55. Then, the chef decides what to send out, including appetizer, soup, entrees and dessert. Specialty items include the rice krispie fried chicken on a Belgian waffle with bacon-honey glaze and Cajun surf and turf with gulf shrimp and beef tenderloin medallions over white rice with black pepper meunière. Heaven on Seven, 224 S. Main St., Naperville. (630) 717-0777 or heavenonseven.com.

John and Tony's new menu

John and Tony's recently welcomed a new chef and a revamped menu. Try Lou's new pasta specialties like the pesto chicken — spaghetti with sun dried tomatoes, peas and basil pesto, $12.95 half, or $15.95 full; the fried walleye pike served with sauteed broccoli and tartar sauce for $18.95; or the bourbon glazed burger topped with grilled onions, mushrooms and pepper jack cheese on a brioche bun for $12.95. John and Tony's, 27W371 North Ave., West Chicago. (630) 520-0593 or johnandtonys.com.

Bahama Breeze's winter chef picks

The winter chef's selection, a rotating seasonal menu at Bahama Breeze, includes two new menu additions. Pick from bacalao fritters, salted codfish and potato fritters served with cilantro-crema for $10.79; or the orange tamarind chicken, six pieces of fried bone-in chicken smothered in sweet and tangy tamarind and orange glaze served with Caribbean-style Johnnycakes for $16.79. Bahama Breeze, 406 E. Golf Road, Schaumburg. (847) 884-7060 or bahamabreeze.com.
