Amnesty week for fees, interest

Amnesty week from all collection fees and accrued interest on past due fines owed on criminal and traffic matters in Lake County will run from Aug. 23 though Friday, Aug. 27. Last year, more than $575,000 in interest and fees were waived for individuals with outstanding balances. The Lake County circuit clerk's office will offer online, phone and mail options for submitting payments. Alternatives are suggested but in-person payments will be taken from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at branches in Mundelein, Park City, Round Lake and Waukegan.
