Gurnee police probing fatal crash

Gurnee police said an investigation continues into an Oct. 1 fatal two-vehicle crash on Route 41. Deputy Police Chief Willie Meyer said the driver who died in the wreck was Hannah Kennedy, 31, of Zion. Bart Bates, 44, of South Holland, survived the crash.

The collision occurred about 1:30 a.m. on northbound Route 41 near the Washington Street exit.

"Our accident reconstructionists are working on it," Meyer said Monday, "and it's a time-consuming process."

No further information will be released by police at this time.
