Baseball: Naperville North, Wheaton North, Glenbard East win

Naperville North 12, Naperville Central 2:

The Huskies (5-9, 1-7) pounded out 14 hits to win in five innings in the DuPage Valley Conference. Mike Bruebach and Cliff Vickers went 3-for-4 while Vickers and Jacob Scharm drove in 3 runs. Ethan Kaiman was the winning pitcher.

Wheaton North 8, Glenbard North 1:

Complete-game winner Ryan Russman pitched a 5-hitter with 5 strikeouts, no walks and no earned runs allowed for the Falcons (11-7, 6-3) in the DuKane Conference. Jay Gail went 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Patrick Dosen drove in 3 runs. Colin Fleisher went 2-for-3 for Glenbard North (9-8, 3-6).

Glenbard East 7, Glenbard South 1:

Bret Bushka and Jeremy Johnson each drove in 2 runs as the Rams (14-7, 10-3) evened the Upstate Eight Conference series. Winning pitcher Jake Huisman pitched into the fifth inning. Mason Barnick had 2 hits and drove in a run for Glenbard South (13-7, 9-4).

York 10-1, Downers North 2-6:

Bo Thomas and Joe Orrico had 3 RBI in the opening West Suburban Silver win for the Dukes (9-8, 3-4). Cam Demos was the complete-game winner and drove in 2 runs for Downers North (5-15, 4-6) in the second game.

Hinsdale South 10, Addison Trail 3:

The Hornets (8-9, 3-4) broke out to a 9-0 third-inning lead to win their second straight in the West Suburban Gold series. Drew Duckhorn drove in 4 runs. Winning pitcher Michael McCormack struck out six in 5 innings. A.J. Carlson and Mike Scali went 3-for-4 for Addison Trail (6-10, 2-7).

Downers South 6, Leyden 5:

The Mustangs (9-8, 7-1) scored twice in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the lead in their West Suburban Gold win. Jack Blazevich went 2-for-4 with a homer and 3 RBI. Gino Cozzi was the winning pitcher.

St. Francis 11-11, Fenton 1-0:

Nick Kosmetatos homered in the Metro Suburban opener for the Spartans (12-3, 3-1). Game 2 winning pitcher Nino Christopher drove in 2 runs.

Montini 4, DePaul Prep 2:

The Broncos (9-8, 5-2) scored all their runs in the second inning to win in the Chicago Catholic League. Jack Angus doubled twice. Ralph Ortiz was the winning pitcher.

Bishop McNamara 10-3, IC Catholic Prep 1-4:

The Knights (10-13, 3-5 Metro Suburban) won the second game when Matthew Maldonado singled in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Michael Hilgart had 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Dave Sykora scattered 6 hits in 6 innings.
