Crash closes Route 83 near Willowbrook

A portion of Route 83 near Willowbrook was closed due to a traffic crash Thursday, authorities said.

Officials at the DuPage County sheriff's office said the crash closed the more than 2 mile stretch of Route 83 between Bluff Road and Archer Ave., while police and fire officials responded.

The highway was reopened once crews had cleared debris, according to officials.

Officials said there were injuries involved in the crash, but additional details weren't immediately available.
