Electronics recycling for businesses, schools Oct. 16 in Antioch

The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) is hosting a special electronics recycling collection event for Lake County businesses, schools, churches, nonprofits and units of government, from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 16, in the Antioch municipal parking lot along Toft Avenue.

Items that will be accepted at no cost include personal computers (including tablets), LCD monitor, keyboards and mice, small scale servers, printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, cable receivers, satellite receivers, VCRs, DVRs, DVD players and phones.

Fees will be assessed for televisions and picture tube monitors ($35 for TV's 21" and larger, $25 for TV's 20" or smaller, and $25 for each picture tube monitor).

Items not accepted include dehumidifiers, air conditioners, lead-acid batteries, large appliances and chemical waste.
