Seniors treated to holiday dinner at Libertyville High

More than 200 Libertyville-area seniors on Tuesday attended an annual holiday dinner and concert in their honor at Libertyville High School.

The guests were treated to chicken Kiev, wild rice, green beans and dessert, served by members of the school's National Honor Society.

"We are so glad that we can give back to our senior community by hosting our annual holiday dinner and concert," Libertyville-Vernon Hills Area High School District 128 spokeswoman Mary Todoric said. "(The) students who serve the meals love to interact with our senior guests, and I believe the seniors feel the same way."

Dinner was followed by a holiday concert from the Libertyville High choir.

A similar dinner and performance were held in November at Vernon Hills High, Libertyville High's sister school. About 200 people attended that meal.
