Batavia police investigating residential burglary

Batavia police are seeking the public's help in its investigation of a residential burglary, officials said.

Officers were called to a home on the 1400 block of Harvell Drive for a burglary report around 10:30 a.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Batavia Police Department.

The burglary occurred sometime between 10:30 a.m. Saturday and the time it was reported. Residents, who were not home at the time the burglary occurred, said money and jewelry were missing, according to the news release.

Police said it appears suspects forced their way into the home through the back door of the home.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Batavia Police Department Investigations Division at (630) 454-2500.
