Stand firm, Gov. Rauner
Gov. Rauner, stay the course!
The people of Illinois need fiscal responsibility. It is time to stop the evil cabal of Rahm Emanuel, mayor of Chicago, Mike Madigan, speaker of the Illinois House and John Cullerton, president of the Illinois Senate.
These people and all the Democratic governors have driven Illinois to the poor house with their special interest budgets and spending to get votes. They promise something to everybody, and deliver it, passing the costs to future taxpayers. These people are special interest socialists.
The axis of evil that runs from the Chicago mayor's office to the Springfield statehouse needs to be broken.
With Illinois debt at $127 billion, and a population of 12.9 million people, every man, woman and child in this state owes about $10,000. This doesn't include current operating expenses. Having pain at loss of some services today is a lot less than it will be in the future.
As Margaret Thatcher said, "The problem with socialism is, sooner or later you run out of other people's money." We are there now. We cannot, should not, give this burden to the children of Illinois.
Fix the budget, start lowering the debt now.
