Portillo's deal hints of monopoly
After reading the recent article on Keith Kinsey's assumption of the role as Portillo's new CEO, I couldn't help but dwell on the fact that although Dick Portillo sold his restaurant chain, he would still be profiting greatly from the business and would continue to have great control by choosing the land on which new locations would be opened. These are early signs of a monopoly in the fast food business, and it is important that something is to be done about this before a monopoly is established like John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil Company.
