Hoffman Estates voters say yes to three advisory questions

Hoffman Estates voters said yes to three advisory referendum questions Tuesday that village board members sought guidance on, according to unofficial results.

With 29 of 30 precincts reporting and 7,235 ballots counted, 60.3% of voters said the village should encourage creation of a full interchange at Beverly Road and the I-90 tollway.

On whether the village should encourage development of more entertainment venues within its Economic Development Area around the Sears campus and Sears Centre Arena, 82.1% of voters said yes with a 5,616 to 1,227 ballot count.

Residents also agreed that the village should encourage the state to appoint judges based on merit by a vote of 5,554 to 1,194, a positive response of 82.3%.

All results are unofficial.
