Palatine Township seeks nominations for Easter Basket Program
Nominations are now being accepted for recipients of the Palatine Township Easter Basket program. The township provided 450 Easter baskets to children during the campaign in 2016, and the goal for this year is 500.
Palatine Township children ages 10 and younger can be nominated by a Palatine Township resident. You can nominate an in-need child, or if you are at-need, you may complete an application for your child.
Nominations, which do not guarantee program eligibility, can be made online at www.palatinetownship.com/2017-easter-basket-application. The deadline is Friday, Feb. 24.
"Area children whose families are experiencing financial hardship can miss out on the joys of getting an Easter basket from the Easter Bunny," said Sharon Langlotz-Johnson, Palatine Township supervisor. "We invite our residents to nominate a child who would benefit from this program."
Confirmation letters will be mailed by March 27 to those approved to receive an Easter basket, which will be filled with age-appropriate treats and toys for the children to enjoy.
The baskets must be picked up at the Palatine Township Center, 721 S. Quentin Road, in Palatine, on designated pickup dates. Those who fail to collect them will be unable to participate or qualify for other outreach programs for a one-year period.
