Experience China with Elgin Area Chamber trip this fall

The Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce is offering a special opportunity for community members to experience the Chinese culture, history, and business.

Through a partnership with Citslinc International Inc., the chamber is offering a cost-effective trip to China from Oct. 5-13.

The trip includes stops in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou with opportunities to visit historic sites like the Great Wall of China and Tiananmen Square.

The chamber will host an informational meeting from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in the Grove Room at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin.

This is an opportunity to get answers to any questions regarding the trip.

Call the chamber office at (847) 741-5660 if you are interested in attending.

"The Elgin Area Chamber is pleased to offer this opportunity to the community," said Carol Gieske, chamber president. "This tour is an excellent opportunity to be introduced to China. It's extremely affordable and includes visits to major cities, various economic zones, and major historical sites."

The trip includes round trip airfare from Chicago, hotel accommodations at four- and five-star hotels, three full meals a day, entrance fee to attractions, and access to professional drivers and tour operators.

Some of the highlights include visiting the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace, Ming Tombs, and The Bund. There is also an opportunity to visit with a local Chinese business if there is interest. This meeting is optional and requires filling out an inquiry form indicating what type of business or industry one is interested in learning more about.
