Opening the door to corruption

Is anyone else feeling the angst and terror like I am that accompanies the reign of Donald the Terrible? I have never experienced such total disregard and abuse of power from this country's highest official as that which is cowardly generated almost on a daily basis through his Twitter.

Now Trump is directly challenging our Constitution in demanding a "transparently political investigation" by the Justice Department into its own FBI's Russian probe with the aim of destroying our Justice officials and, of course, the Obama administration. Now that Trump's inner circle has been penetrated one can only imagine that the Russian probe is probably getting so close to uncovering the obvious that Trump is panicking and deliberately trying to cast doubt on Mueller's findings. Imagine - deliberately misusing presidential authority and overriding the laws of the Constitution as a deflection.

Putin (mis)uses Russia's justice system to do exactly the same: punishing its "enemies" and deflecting attention from its own crimes. How does this happen? There is no one capable of challenging and preventing the dictates.

Our Republican Department of Justice bobbleheads appear to be doing the exact same thing in giving Trump what he wants through their silence. Is that not crossing the line? Our former government's principles were such that not even the president was above the law.

Trump's direct challenge clearly defies what was once held sacred. He is using the DOJ and the FBI against his political enemies just like Putin does. If this abuse is not extinguished right now, the door to future corruption will continue to open even more.

God save America.
