Carol Stream Women's Club celebrates chocolate

The Carol Stream Women's Club will celebrate chocolate when it meets starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, at Glenbard North High School, 990 Kuhn Road, Carol Stream.

Participants should enter the school through Door 1 and go straight to the teacher's cafeteria. The program will start immediately after the club's 7 p.m. business meeting.

The guest speaker will be Therese Fulgaar of Sugarplum Chocolate Shoppe, who has 20 years of experience working with chocolate. She'll present a hands-on "take home the treats" experience.

Participants are asked to RSVP to carolstreamwomansclub@gmail.com to ensure there are enough supplies. Club members also will discuss their quarterly project that aims to collect 125 feminine hygiene products that will be donated in June to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans.

The project is being held in conjunction with the General Federation of Women's Clubs - Illinois, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary and has asked all clubs to do a service project that revolves around the number 125.

The Carol Stream Woman's Club is a philanthropic and social club that supports local organizations with time and monetary donations. It's also open to women from neighboring towns.
