Northwest suburban residents to attend military academies

Democratic Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth Friday announced the names of three 8th District students who will attend military service academies this fall after she recommended them for consideration.

Students applying to the service academies are required to have a Congressional nomination for a complete application.

The students are Patrick Michael Burns of South Barrington, a Barrington High School student attending West Point; Gannon Cottone of Elgin, a former Albion College student attending Merchant Marine Academy; and Adam Doruff of Elk Grove Village, an Elk Grove High School graduate attending the Naval Academy.
