Boys track and field: Westminster's Yaccino, DeHaan go 1-2 in 800

Westminster Christian's Jason Yaccino and Will DeHaan went 1-2 in the 800-meter run Friday at the Class 1A Seneca boys track sectional to advance to next weekend's state finals in Charleston.

Yaccino won the event in a time of 1:59.80. Harvest Christian won the 3,200 relay in a time of 8:21.93. The Lions also advanced Andrew Dobrescu and Matthew Olech in the 1,600 after they finished 2-3.

St. Edward's Zach Olenek will also compete at state after finishing third in the long jump.
