"This game went the way of the Eagles, but the Knights never let up in their effort to find a goal. Both teams played some very spirited quality soccer that a play here or there could have could have gone the Knights way and against the Eagles."

Niles North 1, Vernon Hills 0: The visitors converted a first-half penalty kick for the only goal in the Central Suburban League match.
"I thought we have played much better over the last two games," Vernon Hills coach Mike McCaulou said. "Our boys are growing every day, and it will soon all come together for them. We are struggling to produce anything in front of goal early on this season, and that has forced us to be perfect on the defensive side of things. I think as the guys continue to play together and our younger guys get more varsity experience it will come."
