Clemson names Furman's Hester as new women's golf coach
CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Clemson has hired Furman golf coach Kelley Hester for the Tigers' program.
Athletic director Dan Radakovich announced the addition Friday. Hester takes over for J.T. Horton, who the school let go after three seasons.
Hester led the Paladins to Southern Conference championships the past two seasons. Furman finished 20th at the NCAA Championship this spring.
Hester played golf at Georgia from 1993-96. She has also been head coach at UNLV, Arkansas and Georgia. While with the Razorbacks, Hester coached LPGA star Stacy Lewis, who was the 2007 national champion and the 2008 SEC championship medalist and player of the year.
