Rolling Meadows expo showcases local businesses

Business representatives and Rolling Meadows residents were serenaded by live music Thursday as they browsed tables and picked up tchotchkes at the city's second annual Business & Community Showcase.

The Northwest Concert Band performed during the business expo, held at Meridian Banquets & Conference Center. Many of the 40 businesses and community groups who had display tables during the three-hour public event participated in a closed business-to-business networking hour beforehand.

It was a new venue for the expo, which had its inaugural last year at Rolling Meadows High School. City officials started the event as a way to connect local business owners with residents and one another.
