Williams, McNeal lead Round Lake past Lakes

Hakim Williams scored 24 points, Deveauntay McNeal added 22, and Round Lake's boys basketball team defeated host Lakes 71-58 in Northern Lake County Conference action on Friday night.

Isaiah Nixon had 11 points for the Panthers (18-9, 8-3), who remain one game back of first place. Wauconda is in sole possession of first after beating Grayslake Central.

Lakes fell to 8-18 and 4-7 in the NLCC.

Libertyville 60, Lake Zurich 46: Chase Bonder and James Steinhaus each scored 12 points to lead the host Wildcats in the North Suburban Conference game.

Libertyville improved to 17-8 and 7-4 in the NSC. Lake Zurich fell to 7-17 and 2-9 in the conference.

Antioch 47, Grayslake North 42: The visiting Sequoits picked up the win to improve to 12-13 and 4-6 in the Northern Lake County Conference.

Grayslake North dropped to 8-15 and 4-7 in the NLCC.

Maine West 53, Vernon Hills 51: The visiting Cougars fell to 12-15 and 3-6 in the Central Suburban League North Division.

Maine West improved to 11-13 and 5-4 in the CSL North.
