Gurnee man charged with attempted murder in Chicago shooting

A Gurnee man is facing felony charges in connection with a Feb. 20 shooting that left two people injured, one of them critically, outside a Chicago club, police said.

Cameron White, 25, of the 900 block of North Crestville Court, is charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm and two counts of attempted first-degree murder, stemming from the shooting in the 2100 block of South Wabash Avenue.

According to Chicago police, White was kicked out of a club about 2 a.m. Feb. 20 after an altercation with security. He returned to the area soon after and fired shots from a vehicle, police said.

A 29-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the forehead and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, authorities said. A 34-year-old man who was shot in the leg, according to police. Authorities later located White in Waukegan and identified him as the shooter, police said.

White was ordered held without bail, and his next court date is Friday.
