Palatine taking orders starting March 1 for wood mulch delivery

The Palatine Public Works Department will begin scheduling appointments for its annual wood mulch delivery program on Wednesday, March 1.

Deliveries will take place on Fridays April 14, April 21, April 28 and May 5, to residents' driveway aprons.

This program is available only to single-family residences in Palatine. The cost is $16 per cubic yard, with a minimum order size of three cubic yards and a maximum of 10 cubic yards.

Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis and fill quickly. Call public works at (847) 705-5200 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, starting March 1 to schedule an appointment.

To pick up smaller amounts of mulch at no charge, visit the mulch bins at 550 N. Smith St. near the Smith Tank water tower. Bring your own shovel and containers. There is no charge to pick up your own mulch.
