Ex-Air Force tailback Joseph Saucier pleads to cocaine use

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - Former Air Force tailback Joseph Saucier has pleaded guilty to cocaine use and marijuana possession.

The Gazette reports Saucier entered the pleas at an academy hearing Thursday in which military prosecutors agreed to drop allegations that he also intended to distribute illegal drugs.

Air Force Judge Lt. Col. Sterling Pendleton accepted the plea deal.

He didnâ€™t immediately sentence Saucier, who could face expulsion, jail time or fines.

Saucier, a senior, hasnâ€™t played this season after he was arrested in his native Arkansas in December for investigation of drug possession.

He told the judge Thursday that he also used cocaine last November, citing academic pressure and his frustration over a knee ligament tear that ended his 2018 season.
