West Virginia adds 9 early football recruits
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia has added nine recruits to its football roster.
Coach Dana Holgorsen said Monday the new arrivals have enrolled for the spring semester.
The defensive recruits are linemen Reese Donahue and Jeffery Pooler, linebacker Logan Thimons, safety Dylan Tonkery and cornerback Jacques Adams. Adams originally signed with the Mountaineers last year and played in the fall at Milford Academy in New Berlin, New York.
The recruits on offense are quarterback Cody Saunders, wide receiver Marcus Simms, lineman Jacob Buccigrossi and running back Kennedy McKoy.
Donahue played at Cabell Midland High. He's the first player to be named the state's top lineman and best defensive player in the same season by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.
Tonkery played at Bridgeport High. His brother is former WVU linebacker Wes Tonkery.
