Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.North Barrington has very few businesses that require local sales tax. And because of this, the property taxes are extremely high because we do not have industry or commercial businesses.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?We do not have our own police and fire department. We rely on other local communities and pay for the services which appear to be very good. They are on call and have served our community well.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?We need to be more physically responsible when we outsource for consultants and make sure we have multiple bids on projects for the community.What is one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Making sure that our office staff is adequately paid including health and retirement benefits.
