Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.North Barrington has very few businesses that require local sales tax. And because of this, the property taxes are extremely high because we do not have industry or commercial businesses.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?We do not have our own police and fire department. We rely on other local communities and pay for the services which appear to be very good. They are on call and have served our community well.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?We need to be more physically responsible when we outsource for consultants and make sure we have multiple bids on projects for the community.What is one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Making sure that our office staff is adequately paid including health and retirement benefits. Many times the job requires additional hours for which they are not compensated for because they are salaried.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Environmental issues are always important but the problem is that many of the solutions are only short term fixes and this in many cases creates long term problems which were not foreseen.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.The past King of Thailand, Bhumibol AdulyadejWhat is the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Responsibility and TruthfulnessIf life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?I would have taken more technological education courses.What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Physical Education and I later became a high school Physical Education Teacher and CoachIf you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Always dream big.
