Four Gurnee homes burglarized in one night

Four homes in Gurnee were burglarized between Monday night and Tuesday morning, police said Wednesday morning.

The homes were near each other and in each case the offender seems to have entered through an unlocked door, according to Gurnee. One home is on Hollyhock Court, one is on Lawson Boulevard and two are on Beechwood Avenue.

Police encourage residents to secure their doors and consider installing quality exterior lighting, which they say remains the most effective nighttime crime prevention.
