Ex-Woodstock principal admits to stealing thousands
WOODSTOCK, Ill. (AP) - The former principal of a northern Illinois middle school has admitted to stealing thousands of dollars from various non-district bank accounts.
The Northwest Herald (http://bit.ly/1SsheOJ ) reports that 42-year-old Jerome Wakitsch of Woodstock pleaded guilty to forgery Thursday in McHenry County court. He was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay more than $25,000 in restitution.
He also was sentenced to 180 days in the McHenry County Jail, but the term was stayed pending further issues.
Wakitsch, the former principal at Northwood Middle School, stole money for personal gain from accounts associated with the Parent Teacher Organization and the Fox Valley Junior High School Conference.
He resigned as principal in August 2015.
