When do you need to stop for a school bus?
A driver is required to stop before meeting or passing a stopped school bus that has flashing lights and its stop signal arm extended.
This is required on:
• Public roads
• Parking lots on school property
• Private roads
Drivers aren't obligated to stop on a four-lane road for a bus stopped in the opposite direction.
