Save-A-Star Drug Awareness Foundation hosts 'Men's Cave' recovery meeting Sept 7
Save-A-Star Drug Awareness Foundation is sponsoring a "Men's Cave" recovery meeting for Thursday, Sept. 7, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 210 Skokie Valley Road, Suite B, west entrance in Highland Park. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
"We are excited and proud to announce these much-needed men's meetings which provide a very relaxed environment with the intentions of connecting with others who want to stay clean and sober," said David Katz, co-founder of the Save-A-Star Drug Awareness Foundation. "Now more than ever, everyone in recovery needs support in any capacity and Save-A-Star is here for them. Some of the topics of discussion will be leadership, manhood and ideals that help men today."
This special meeting is a post-treatment for men only in recovery to connect with individuals who want to stay clean and sober with help of community resources, social events and strong network of peers to support each other, said Katz.
Please do not wait and reserve your spot by calling (847) 579-1300, ext. 146. All recovery is not a 12-step program and welcomes all pathways of recovery.
According to Katz, this is a safe place for recovering addicts to get support from other recovering addicts as well as from various government and community resources that will give them hope for their future. The objective is to help build a post-treatment network of support during these hard and stressful times.
"We understand that recovery is a life-long process, and these sessions provide a place where people can connect with others in recovery and stay in recovery, with a life-long partnership of support," said Katz.
The Foundation was founded in 2007 by David and Gail Katz and their daughter, Melissa Katz Gold, following the death of the Katz's son, and Melissa's brother, Daniel, from an overdose of prescription drug medication. He was just 25 years old. The goal of the foundation is to create drug awareness.
To RSVP for the men only All-Recovery meeting Thursday, Sept. 7, please call (847) 579-1300, ext. 146.
"Please feel free to share this information with anyone who might be interested in a men's meeting," said Katz.
