Three injured in St. Charles crash
Three people were injured and a Carol Stream man was ticketed after a two-car crash Wednesday in St. Charles, police said.
St. Charles Police Cmdr. Mike Griesbaum said the crash took place at about 9:33 p.m. at Fifth Avenue (Route 25) and Cedar Avenue. One driver and two passengers were taken to a hospital with nonserious injuries, he said.
A 2011 Buick eastbound on Cedar Avenue attempted to make a left turn onto Fifth Avenue and collided with a 2014 Jeep going northbound on Fifth Avenue, he said.
The driver of the Buick, Rafat Abdullatef, 51, of Carol Stream, was cited for failure to yield while turning, left, Griesbaum said.
The driver of the Jeep and two passengers in the Buick were taken to a hospital, Griesbaum said. Their conditions weren't immediately known early Thursday.
