Longtime Prospect Heights alderman, former mayor Pat Ludvigsen resigns
Longtime Prospect Heights Alderman Pat Ludvigsen is resigning because he is moving out of the 4th Ward he's represented for 17 years.
In a letter of resignation submitted to Mayor Nick Helmer, Ludvigsen wrote that it's been an honor to serve the community and work alongside many elected and nonelected city officials.
"I am stepping down, for now, knowing that we are financially secure and have exceptional police and public works departments," wrote Ludvigsen, who also served as the city's acting mayor following the 2007 resignation of Mayor Rodney Pace.
Ludvigsen will continue to reside in Prospect Heights, but in a different ward, according to a city announcement.
