Bears iPad stolen from top draft pick's car

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago Bears first-round draft choice Roquan Smith is going to need a new iPad after someone in Georgia stole the one the team just gave him.

According to published reports, the linebacker called Athens-Clarke County police on Saturday morning that items including the iPad, his Georgia helmet and Georgia Bulldogs jerseys he wore during the regular season, the Rose Bowl and during the national title game from his 2018 BMW X5 parked outside an apartment complex. No arrests have been made.

It was not immediately clear what was on the iPad, but the Chicago Sun-Times reports that the team typically distributes them to serve as the players' de facto playbook.

Last month, the Bears made Smith the eighth player selected in the 2018 draft.
