Trouble finding new Illinois license plates

Jesse White, on TV recently, showed the new Illinois state license plates Very nice, but I searched numerous sites asking where these Illinois plates are made and there is no definitive answer.

Is it a secret? Are they made in the United States or elsewhere? Such a simple questions? Why all the "tap dancing?" Did I stumble on an embarrassing answer? Not "Made in the U.S.A.?"
