IDOT to conduct I-290 bridge inspection near Itasca

Drivers should prepare for delays when the bridge carrying Metra's Milwaukee District-West line over the Eisenhower Expressway in Itasca undergoes a routine inspection Saturday morning.

Weather permitting, a moving closure will take place on both sides of I-290 near Irving Park Road between 6 and 11 a.m., according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. At least two lanes in either direction will remain open.

IDOT urges drivers to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be on alert for workers and equipment.
