Tee times set for winter golf in Des Plaines

The Des Plaines Park District's annual Chili Open - nine holes of golf "in the glorious warmth of the January sunshine" - kicks off Saturday at the Golf Center with shotgun starts at 9 a.m. and noon.

The winter golf event is open to participants ages 8 and up. Registration at the golf center and GolfCenterDesPlaines.com is open through Friday. A chili lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to noon at Club Casa, located in the clubhouse.

Residents pay $18 for golf and lunch, and nonresidents pay $23.
