McDonald's building new restaurant in Elk Grove Village

A McDonald's restaurant in Elk Grove Village will be moving to a new location on Meacham Road.

Village officials are expected to finalize approval next month of the new location at 901 Meacham Road in the outlot of the new Aldi grocery store and Ross Dress For Less. The fast food chain will be moving out of an existing location at Biesterfield and Meacham roads just to the north and constructing a new building.

"We're tired of the sea of asphalt parking lots all around our shopping centers," Mayor Craig Johnson said. "To waste all that asphalt, not to be utilized, is something this board has been looking at for a long time."
