Dutchman Manufacturing buys building, plans to add 150 jobs

ELKHART, Ind. (AP) - A northern Indiana manufacturing company plans to buy the facility of a recreational vehicle maker that closed two weeks ago and plans to use the space to help increase production and create 150 jobs.

The Elkhart Truth reports (http://bit.ly/28LsFkQ ) Dutchmen Manufacturing Inc. has purchased a facility formerly owned by EverGreen RV. Dutchmen is a unit of Thor Industries Inc.'s Keystone RV Co. subsidiary.

The plant, located southwest of the former EverGreen headquarters along the Indiana Toll Road, will provide 100,000 square feet of additional production space. Dutchmen President Troy James said the move was necessary because of the high demand for Dutchmen products, which includes travel trailers.

Dutchmen spokesman Jim Mac says the plant is expected to open by the end of September.
