Think east-west, not north-south, on gridlock

To those who support spending millions of dollars to extend Route 53 north into Lake County: I invite you to drive any of the east-west streets - such as Rt. 60 or Rt. 120 - west of the proposed extension for a few miles during the evening rush hour.

Then realize that those millions of dollars can be better spent to add lanes to these two-lane roads that are in complete gridlock every weekday with several miles of backup from 3-6 p.m. and often even in non-rush hour times. We don't need north-south traffic relief; east-west traffic relief is urgent.
