Girls soccer: Elgin, Huntley notch shutouts
Elgin 4, Glenbard North 0: Hayley Munoz scored a goal in the first half for Elgin (7-7, 0-2) and the Maroons added 3 more goals in the second half to seal the win. Joanna Mercado saved the only shot that came her way,
Aurora Central Catholic 7, Chicago Christian 0: Mary Canning had a hat trick to led the Chargers (1-2), while Alexia Jones had a goal and 2 assists in the win. Anabel Hernandez earned a shutout, saving 2 shots in goal for ACC.
Huntley 2, McHenry 0: Morgan Alpert and Alyssa Xanos handled the scoring for the Red Raiders (6-4-2, 2-1) with assists from Taylor Kaufman and Braidy Ceh. That would be all the scoring that Huntley would need, as the defense shut out McHenry with Alexis Kozak and Ashley Lovins splitting duties in goal.
Cary-Grove 6, CL South 0: The Trojans defense allowed only 2 shots on goal both saved by a combo McKenna Sheehan and Lauren Passaglia in goal. Jenna Stayart led the offense with 2 goals and Kenndi Jones and Kailyn added a goal and assist.
