Report on crash that killed 7 near Bloomington not complete
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - The National Transportation Safety Board says the final report on a plane crash that killed an Illinois State University basketball coach, an administrator and five fans won't be complete by the event's one-year anniversary.
NTSB spokesman Peter Knudson said Wednesday the investigator of the April 7, 2015 crash near Bloomington is waiting on several reports. The agency initially said the investigation would take a year to 18 months.
Illinois State in a news release encouraged students and fans to remember those killed through something the victim's relatives created called Project 7. They want others to perform seven acts of kindness on April 7.
The victims included 36-year-old associate head coach Torrey Ward and administrator Aaron Leetch. The plane was returning to Bloomington from the NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis.
