Bell ringers needed in McHenry County

The Salvation Army of McHenry County is in need of bell ringers during the holiday season through Christmas Eve.

Bell ringing is The Salvation Army's biggest source of income. Volunteers are asked for a two-hour commitment and locations are available throughout the county.

Funds raised locally, stay local to support youth, adult, and senior programming, and emergency services and homeless prevention year-round. During the holiday season, funding supports a free community Thanksgiving dinner and toys for children in need.

In 2019, The Salvation Army provided more than 8,000 gifts to local children through the Christmas Toyland Shop and Angel Tree program. Support from the bell-ringing program raised almost $200,000 in the red kettles last year.
