GOP's first goal is to protect the rich
The sole purpose of the Republican Party is to protect the wealth of the 1 percent. To accomplish this, a small group of people use fear and hate to control the Republican voter.
For instance: "The Muslims are coming. The Affordable Care Act contains a death panel. They're going to take your guns away. [There are about 392 million guns in this country; how would you do that?], Labor Unions are evil. Illegal immigrants are taking your jobs." [Actually those folks are doing the work Caucasians won't do.]
Consider this. The Republican tax cut will add about $1.4 trillion to the deficit over the next 10 years. The tax money no longer being collected is still being spent, however. But now it's borrowed money that must be paid back, with interest.
The Republicans say that expanding business will produce new tax revenue that will offset the income lost due to the tax cut. For this to work, this country must have a GDP well north of 3.5 percent each year for the next 10 years. This country is facing a labor shortage of both skilled and unskilled workers.
So, with a labor shortage staring us in the face, what do the Republicans want to do? They want to deport 11 million workers instead of finding a way to legally incorporate them into the workforce.
The reason there isn't a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants is obvious. These folks are Catholics from Catholic countries. If they are made citizens, they will vote overwhelmingly with the party of inclusion and tolerance. The good ol' boys running this country, bought and paid for by the 1 percent, are never going to let that happen.
