Rape suspect from Georgia arrested in Gurnee

A 22-year-old Georgia man wanted on charges of rape and sodomy in Alabama was arrested Thursday by the Lake County Sheriff Warrants Team in Gurnee.

The Lake County team, in conjunction with federal marshals, arrested Dionte Bass, of the 500 block of Ridley Avenue, LaGrange, Georgia about 2:30 p.m. outside a hotel on the 5000 block of Grand Avenue.

Authorities determined Bass was staying at a hotel, set up surveillance and arrested him in the parking lot without incident, officials said.
