Girls golf: Larson, Hinsdale Central tops at Sandburg sectional
Libby Larson shot a medalist round of 74 on Tuesday to lead Hinsdale Central to the championship of the Class 2A Sandburg girls golf sectional at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park.
The Red Devils shot a 312 to nip host Sandburg by 3 shots. Naperville North was third with a 332, Neuqua Valley fourth with a 336 and Waubonsie Valley sixth with a 359.
Also scoring for Hinsdale Central were Emily Ascher (79), Caroline Owens (79) and Sarah Thornton (80).
Emma Kirvan shot an 80 to lead Naperville North and Kelly Cong had an 81 for Waubonsie Valley.
