A perfect word for one who follows bullies

"Obsequious." Once in a while a word is so accurate that its accurateness is nothing but amazing. So, when a commentator used it to describe Vice President Mike Pence, well, I said, "Wow. That's right-on."

Everyone who has ever encountered a bully in life recognizes one immediately. So, it is not necessary for me to demonstrate that Trump is a bully. It's simply obvious. Bullies believe that they are the Queen of Spades in the game of Sheepshead; more powerful than all the other cards. It trumps them all. The president is like that.

However, the holder of this card has no guarantee of victory and neither does Trump. Bullies don't really like conflict. That's why they choose yes-men and adoring followers to be close to them. They demand loyalty and obedience above intelligence, integrity, competence and empathy. So, it should be no surprise that Trump would choose the obsequious Pence as his vice president.

Pence reminds me of a cult follower who is blinded by devotion to "the leader." And so incredibly obsequious that he would follow and encourage Trump to drag the rest of us into the dungeon of total darkness. The commentator, Steve Schmidt, a longtime Republican strategist, uttered this description on TV. It's incredibly sad to realize that Pence is so weak and Steve Schmidt so accurate.

I admire neither blind obsequiousness nor bullying. And, neither should you.
