Mass in Spanish at Des Plaines shrine to honor COVID-19 victims

The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Des Plaines will conduct a Mass in Spanish Memorial Day weekend to honor those who have died from COVID-19.

The mass in St. Joseph Chapel will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 30. Auxiliary Bishop John R. Manz and Rev. Ismael Sandoval will preside. The Mass is sponsored by the Archdiocesan Hispanic Advisory Board (Consejo Hispano).

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this liturgy will have limited attendance to observe local and state seating capacity restrictions. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist participants in observing social distancing guidelines and wearing masks during the Mass. Attendees will be required to register at bit.ly/3vuZfT6.

The Mass will be live streamed at facebook.com/SantuarioGuadalupe and at youtu.be/oZIwhBe4mlQ.

The shrine is at 1170 N. River Road.
